We are pleased to announce the convening of the Sixth Iranian Congress of Medical Mycology, to be held on 8–10 February 2027. While fungi can be sources of life-saving medicines, they can also cause dangerous infectious diseases. Understanding these organisms is now more essential than ever for public health.
We face serious global challenges: drug-resistant fungal infections, the limited efficacy of antifungal agents, climate change and emerging pathogens, and the need for rapid, accurate diagnostics. These challenges demand national and international collaboration.
We hope this congress will provide a platform for valuable scientific exchanges with leading experts in medical mycology, both within Iran and around the world.
